Linking Heritage with Community Spirit
Creating Heritage Links is a new project that intends to explore, celebrate and creatively interpret the historic links between the Old Black Lion Pub and St Peters Church, Northampton.
About Creating Heritage Links
Creating Heritage Links is a co-creation initiative that aims to support the local community in interpreting, sharing and celebrating the history of the Old Black Lion Pub and St Peters Church. The projects overarching goal is to create a series of events and activities that are engaging, meaningful, accessible and people-centred.
Creating Heritage Links (run by the Churches Conservation Trust and generously funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund) is the culmination of the wider project to restore and revive the Old Black Lion pub which included a major archeological dig.

Creative & Experiential Storytelling
Both sites are brimming with captivating stories, from Ann Elizabeth Baker, who spent years restoring the carvings within St Peter's, to renowned local artist Henry Bird who pursued a career in art after being inspired by the very same stonework that was unveiled by Anne's labour of love a century before.
'The beauty of St.Peter's capitals, and the skill with which they were carved, helped to point the way to the kind of life I wanted''
- Henry Bird
